The village of Mijas is situated on a small hill of 428m altitude, with 8,000 habitants.

Mijas Pueblo (village) is up at 428 meters of altitude on the mountain side, providing a home for its 8,000 inhabitants. Just like in Mijas Costa, there are so many English residents here that the town hall has facilitated a special foreigner assistance service for those who do not speak English. It was foreign artists who started coming to Mijas in the 1960’s though. Today, many of them remain and have been joined with newcomers, all enjoying the relative quietness away from the hustle and bustle of the coast.
