It was during the 60's that in Mijas-Pueblo some workers returned from work on donkeys, this to the delight of tourists who took photos or rode on their turn on one of the animals. The tips given, did often exceed their salaries.

This was, when another kind of business developped. Nowadays, the donkey-taxi is that popular that the town hall of Mijas was constrained to prepare a parking space especially.
